Traditional vs. Transformational Leadership Many leaders from history have the label of charismatic, intellectual and inspirational. Leadership is labeled as the most important aspect of management because leadership what defines a well-balanced and managed organization. Leaders influence groups to reach and achieve goals that the organization has set into action. Transformational and transactional leadership are the two most prominent leadership theories. This objective of this paper is to define the three aspects of transformational leadership: charisma, intellectual and inspiration. Not only will this paper define the different aspects of transformational leadership but it will provide examples of leaders who exude each aspect. Charisma Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Albert Einstein all are known as charismatic leaders. A charismatic leadership style is a lot like a transformational leadership style because the leader uses enthusiastic measures to keep morale up with employees. They believe that when a has a positive, upbeat attitude, they will most likely be more productive. â€Å"Charisma or idealized influence is, the degree to which the leader behaves in admirable ways and displays convictions and takes stands that cause followers to identify with the leader who has a clear set of values and acts as a role model for the followers† (Warrilow, 2012).
